Worth It? — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 12, 2026

Short version: we don't collect anything. Your data never leaves your phone.

The short version

Worth It? is built to be private. It has no account, no analytics, and no tracking. Everything you enter — your salary, work hours, country, history, and wishlist — is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else. We can't see it, because it never reaches us.

What we collect

Nothing. We operate no servers that receive your data, run no analytics SDKs, and use no advertising or tracking identifiers.

Where your data lives

Your numbers and preferences are saved locally on your device (via the operating system's standard app storage). Deleting the app removes them. You can also wipe everything from Settings → Reset inside the app.

Network use

The app makes two kinds of network request, and neither sends anything about you. The first goes to a public, keyless exchange-rate service (open.er-api.com) so Travel mode can convert currencies; the only thing sent is a 3-letter currency code (e.g. "USD"). The second happens on launch: a check with our app-update service (Expo) to see whether a newer version is available, sending only a non-identifying app and version identifier. No salary, prices, location, or personal identifiers are ever transmitted.

Camera & photos

If you scan a price tag, text recognition runs entirely on your device; the photo and the recognized text never leave your phone. Photos you attach to wishlist items are stored locally only.

Permissions

Each is optional and requested only when you use the related feature.

Analytics & advertising

None. There are no third-party analytics or ad networks in the app.

Children

Worth It? is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
